Stephen has established strong networks in the investment research and funds management industry, with institutional relationships built up over many years. Stephen is recognised as an industry leader and participates in many forums and advisory boards.

Stephen leads a team of three dedicated investment professionals and is ultimately responsible for the firm’s investment processes.

Daniel Kisnorbo, B.A; B.Comm; M.App Fin
Senior Investment Research Analyst & Investment Committee member

Daniel has over 10 years of experience in the financial services industry and has been with DFS Portfolio Solutions since 2010. Daniel previously held various operational roles with Goldman Sachs JB Were.

Daniel is responsible for the manager selection process, covering 18 sector reviews and which is subject to frequent quantitative and qualitative analysis.

William Higgins, B.A; B.Comm; FIAA; CFA; M.Fin
Senior Investment Research Analyst & Investment Committee member

William specialises in financial modelling with particular emphasis on asset allocation. Throughout his career, William has built strong analytical and technical skills in the area of risk management. William previously held actuarial and asset consulting roles with Towers Perrin and Russell Investments.

William is responsible for the ongoing maintenance and development of the firm’s asset allocation model as well as our proprietary filtering model which is extensively used in our manager selection process.

Principal

George has over 27 years of experience in the financial services industry.

He specialises in wealth accumulation and pre/post retirement planning for High Net Worth individuals and family groups.

As a financial planning specialist, George’s contribution to the DFSPS Investment Committee is to ensure that client-centric factors are adequately represented in investment decisions.

Patricia Chan B.Com., CA, CFP
Managing Principal

Patricia has over 25 years of Financial Industry experience, having held senior positions in Chartered Accounting and Financial Planning firms.  In her role with DFS Portfolio Solutions, Patricia oversees the platform and compliance requirements for the offering and has significant experience working with key service providers.

Adele Henry
Operations Manager

Adele has over 18 years of financial services experience. She is responsible for all operational matters ranging from oversight of client service, client communications, transactional processes and internal controls.  Her familiarity with the processes of multiple key platforms, coupled with her understanding of how underlying retail clients are impacted provides IFAs with significant insight and assistance as they transition to the DFSPS portfolio management experience.

Dr. Frank Ashe
Independent Investment Committee Member

Dr Frank Ashe specialises in risk management and investments.  He is an Honorary Fellow at the Macquarie University Applied Finance Centre.

Dr Ashe has worked in Australia, Canada and Asia with consultancies, insurance companies, investment management firms, bond dealers, and financial software houses.  His 30+ years of practical experience have been predominantly in the measurement and management of financial risk and return. He is a regular presenter at industry seminars and colloquia, and was President of the Australian Q-Group 2002-2011.  Dr Ashe is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He obtained his PhD in Operations Research from the University of New South Wales.  He majored in Pure and Applied Mathematics, Statistics, and Actuarial Science, with First Class Honours in Mathematics, from Macquarie University.

Jonathan Pain

Jonathan Pain is has 32 years of international investment experience having led investment teams in London, Bahrain and Australia.

Jonathan holds a joint honours degree in Economics and Politics from Keele University and a Masters degree in Finance from Exeter University.

Jonathan is the author and publisher of a widely read investment newsletter and he is well known for his contrarian views and is a regular guest on CNBC TV and speaks at conferences and seminars all around the world. Jonathan is a member of the Advisory Council of China Matters.

Over the last decade, he has repeatedly said that the most significant and defining economic phenomenon of our lifetime is the rise of the Asian middle classes.

Having been born in South Africa and lived in Lesotho, Swaziland, England and Bahrain, Jonathan now calls Australia home.
